Bamberg is a city with an original character and a very special atmosphere. 1000 years of history are united in an old town that is a cultural and architectural site of European rank.

You can reach Bamberg via

• Airplane

With the large airport Nuremberg, which is 70 km away from Bamberg, you can reach Bamberg via scheduled flights. From the airport you have to take the underground (U 2) to Nuremberg Main Station and then the train to Bamberg. There are hourly connections lasting 1h – 1h 20min. Please check appropriate connections at German Rail. You can also take a taxi to Bamberg (approx. 90 Euro).

In combination with the motorway or the railway network, the large airports Munich (240 Km) and Frankfurt (230 Km) are alternatives worth considering. Please check appropriate connections from Munich or Frankfurt to Bamberg at German Rail.

• Train

The German high speed rail net passes through Bamberg. The ICE high speed trains from Munich over Nuremberg to the capital Berlin stop at Bamberg's station. Thanks to regular connections to the large station of Nuremberg, Bamberg can be easily reached from almost every part of Germany. Please check appropriate connections at German Rail. Taxis from Bamberg station to the Welcome Kongress Hotel will cost approx. 7 Euro.

• Car

Bamberg is located in the heart of Franconia and can be easily reached from almost all directions via the direct motorway connection to the A70 and A73.

coming from the west (Frankfurt or Würzburg)

A3 towards Würzburg / Nürnberg until exit Pommersfelden / Bamberg; follow the B 505 until exit Memmelsdorf / Scheßlitz, turn left towards Bamberg and follow the "Memmelsdorfer Straße" (approx. 5 km). After passing the bridge turn left towards "Konzert- und Kongresshalle". You will reach the hotel after approx. 500 meters on the right side.

coming from the south (München or Nürnberg)

A9 until motorway interchange Nürnberg, change to A3 towards Würzburg until motorway interchange Fürth / Erlangen, then change to A73 towards Bamberg. Exit Memmelsdorf / Gartenstadt, turn left torwards Bamberg and follow the "Memmelsdorfer Straße" (approx. 5 km). After passing the bridge turn left towards "Konzert- und Kongresshalle". You will reach the hotel after approx. 500 meters on the right side.

coming from the east (Berlin or Bayreuth)

A9 until motorway interchange Bayreuth-Kulmbach, change to A70 towards Bamberg until exit Hallstadt and turn left towards Bamberg. At the 4th set of traffic lights (across from Fiat car dealer Autowelt König) turn right to "Magazinstraße". After passing the bridge turn left to "Mußstrasse". You will reach the hotel after approx. 500 meters on the right side.

coming from the north (Kassel or Schweinfurt)

A7 until exit Schweinfurt-Werneck, then change to A70 towards Bamberg until exit Hallstadt and turn right towards Bamberg. At the 4th set of traffic lights (across from Fiat car dealer Autowelt König) turn right to "Magazinstraße". After passing the bridge turn left to "Mußstrasse". You will reach the hotel after approx. 500 meters on the right side.
